Eligibility:
Age Limit: In all the disciplines, the upper age limit is 28 years (BTech./B.E./M.Sc./MA/MCA/MBA) and 32 years (M.Tech./M.E./M.S./M. Phil) to be calculated from 17.04.2013 (i.e. the last date for receiving the application form) and is applicable only for candidates applying in Regular and Full time category (Institute Fellows). Upper age is relaxed up to 05 years for SC/ST, Women, OBC and PH Candidates
PhD in Engineering
For admission to the PhD Program in Engineering Department, a candidate must satisfy one of the following criteria:
• Candidates having M.Tech./M.E. degree in Engineering/Technology, with a minimum CPI of 6.0 or 60% of marks
• Bachelors degree in Engineering/Technology (from any Institute other than IITs) in a relevant area with a minimum CPI of 8.0 or 80% of marks
• Bachelors degree from an IIT in a relevant area with a minimum CPI of 7.0
• Masters degree in Science in a relevant area with a minimum CPI of 7.0 or 70 %
PhD in Science
For admission to the PhD Program in Science departments, a candidate must satisfy one of the following criteria:
• M. Phil. or Masters degree in Science in a relevant area with a minimum CPI of 6.0 or 60% of marks
• Masters degree in Engineering/Technology in a relevant area with a minimum CPI of 6.0 or 60 %
• Bachelors degree in Engineering/Technology from an IIT or IISc in a relevant area with a minimum CPI of 7.0
• Bachelors degree in a related area in Engineering/Technology (from any Institute other than IITs/IISc) in a relevant area with a minimum CPI of 8.0 or 80% of marks
PhD in Humanities and Social Sciences
For admission to the PhD Program in the department of Humanities and Social Sciences (HSS), a candidate must satisfy one of the following criteria:
• M. Phil. or Masters degree in Arts/Commerce/Science in a relevant area with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent
• Masters degree in Engineering/Technology/Design in a relevant area with a minimum CPI of 6.0 or 60 %
• Bachelors degree from an IIT or IISc in a relevant area with a minimum CPI of 7.0
• Bachelors degree in Engineering/Technology (from any Institute other than IITs/IISc) in a relevant area with a minimum CPI of 8.0 or 80% of marks
